As a financial adviser, Fraser is keen to demystify the investment experience and to give his clients confidence in their ability to navigate life with peace of mind.
Fraser is a firm believer that sound financial advice and planning are indispensable. Financial markets have a habit of catching out self-guided investors who are invariably the last to know.
Fraser is a financial adviser (FSP765392) who has broad international experience in financial services. He has worked in the fixed income, currencies and commodities divisions of Merrill Lynch International in London and UBS Investment Bank in Hong Kong, both roles focusing on institutional clients. Before that he was employed as a legal and policy adviser at UK regulators the Securities and Futures Authority and the Financial Services Authority.
Fraser has law and economics degrees from the University of Otago where he studied from 1987 to 1991. He qualified as a barrister and solicitor in 1992 but soon turned his focus to financial services where he has spent the majority of his working life. He holds the New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services.
Before launching Highgate Partners with John Alexander in late 2021, Fraser worked as an adviser at another Dunedin firm from 2019.
Outside work, Fraser enjoys spending time with his wife Annie and their two school age daughters. Mountains and lakes in the lower South Island are a big attraction when the family leaves town.
